Email Scams - be vigilant
Another burst of email scams occurred recently with emails disguised as Origin Energy Bills and ASIC Business Name renewals being sent in their thousands. Some of these emails attempt malware downloads as soon as you click links contained in the email which can encrypt and/or steal your data.

Our top tips:

1.Check the email address of the sender. If you do not recognise the email address or it appears unusual then it may be a scam.

2.Check website links contained in the email BEFORE you click them. Most email clients allow you to hover over links to see where it will actually take you.

3.If you are ever unsure do not click any links and do not reply to the email. Contact the sender directly to confirm if the email is legitimate or not.
